The Power Of Thinking

I must be the last person on the planet to hear about The Secret. I didn't watch the movie but read the book at work the other day.

The basic premise is that like attracts like and if you throw positive energy out and live like you already have what you want, then it will come to you.

So, I decided to try some positive thoughtbeams instead of my normal evil ones.

It didn't work very well.

Have you ever had a thought that wasn't nice at all and you know it but you just can't quit thinking it?

When I have the opportunity, I love to use handicap accessible bathrooms. I like the luxury of having my own sink and room to turn around. Whenever I latch the door behind me in one I always say a quick prayer of thanks: "Thank you God for making handicapped people so I can have this bathroom. Amen." And as soon as I say that I wince to myself because it is such a not nice thing to say.

I figure it's just a matter of time before Sweety or I becomes wheelchair bound and then I'll have to use them as a necessity.

Did you watch Boston Legal last night?
William Shatner was trying to use "The Secret" to attract Raquel Welch.
In the end, Phylis Diller showed up.

Goes to show that evil though beams are best. All that positive crap causes stress.

The part about you or Sweety becoming wheelchair bound and having to use them... classic funny Chickie! Ever see the "handi man" skits on In Living Color. Better be glad he never caught you!

As for the "living like you already have what you want"... I call bullshit on that. I tried it and just eneded up in a mass of credit card debt. Bah.

You make me laugh girl. I asked my mom to buy me "The Secret" DVD at Christmas and although it's good I've heard more about it since then. The Laws of Attraction have been around forever but it seems the new wave of book/DVD is a $$$-making effort and focuses too much on material things. But then again, it worked for those publishing the book and DVD because they sought out what they wanted and now all that $$ is going to them! The basic principle is a good one but as you say - we're only human.

Speaking of thoughts: I've got a secret - when I want someone to "chill out" because they're on my case - I put them in the freezer. Don't ask.

The Phosgene Kid - I tried to distract the law once and got a ticket for indecent exposure.

Thomas - I've never seen Boston Legal but that does go to show how the beams really work!

Patti_Cake - I used to watch In Living Color but not in a long time. I thought it had gone off the air.

Heh, I too, tried to "live like I already had it" and ended up with the credit card mess. Maybe "The Secret" was introduced by credit card companies?

Bekah & Rich Championable - Glad to hear that I wasn't alone!

Joey Polanski - You'd think it would need to be well kept because is there really enough good shit to go around for everyone?

Regal - I think the movie would be boring because the book wasn't a real page turner. I'm thinking of getting is and using it as my guide to being a kinder, happier person.

Why the hell haven't I thought to use my freezer for that?!
