All About The Canines

Check out the girls!

All of the girls.

A week ago, you couldn't get Tiny Dog and Chi Chi to close their eyes if the other was in the room and now they are sleeping with Stinky Dog on her big bed. Tiny and Chi Chi aren't friends but they are sometimes tolerating each other. Except for last night. Last night they hated each other and I got up at least nine times to see why dogs were barking or growling or crying at the edge of my bed. They're lucky that I'm not using them as gator bait today. I'm too tired from my lack of sleep to go gator hunting.

Tiny Dog can be such a bitch. Some mornings, after Sweety leaves for work, I'll put her in the bed with me. I didn't do it the other morning because I didn't feel like it. She's so damn hot that I sweat where ever she touches me and I wasn't in the mood for that. So she gets in bed with Stinky Dog and I leave about an hour later to take BigBrother(12) to school. Usually, when I get home all of the dogs are excited to see me and come running out of the bedroom. That day, Tiny Dog did not. Stinky and Chi Chi were crazy all over the place and I look in the bedroom and see that Tiny is still in the dog bed with her back to me. I yell her name and clap my hands and tell here that I have a treat for her but she doesn't move. When I walk over to her and pat her head, she opens one eye and I swear that she sneered at me. She wouldn't get out of bed for her treat so I carried her limp, still angry body to the kitchen and made her eat it. What an attitude.

Doesn't it look like Chi Chi is smiling here? I wonder what she dreams.

Chi Chi

I was pestering Sweety for a puppy before Chi Chi came to stay with us and I was kind of annoyed that he'd let Chi Chi come here but not allow a puppy. But I've discovered that Chi Chi is so old that having her around is like having a puppy. She's just as small as Tiny was when we got her, she can only eat soft food, her balance is off, she's confused and sleeps a lot. You know how sometimes old people that are hard of hearing or maybe going senile have a certain look in their eyes? Kind of like confusion but with a little smile? Chi Chi always looks like that. She reminds me of my Grandma and sometimes I get sad when I see her little bug-eyes looking up at me.

Looks like a doggie sammich!~ I'm familiar with "the look" you're talking about ... I have that look.

Sara Sue - I don't like "the look" from Tiny. It worries me.

Cissy Strutt - Why does the phrase "double stack chihuahua" make me think of something perverted?

I need to start thinking nicer.

Joey Polanski - We take some things very seriously here.

Man, I been trying to take a nap all day and every time I lay down someone or something wakes me up.

Seeing those dogs sleeping like that just reminds me of what I have been missing.

Chi Chi is totally sweet! Can I send Pickles to come live with you? he's old and smells like he's feasted on the flesh of 1000 rotting zombies. He wants to snuggle in bed but is not allowed too b/c of the baby. He is very bitter. very.

Chickie, I had the same thoughts. And I don't know why. It just popped into my head ... and stayed popped.

Tiny Dog is obviously a dog cat (dog body, cat soul). No dog would be such a bitch. Your last sentence brought tears to my eyes.

Wow ChiChi and I have a lot in common. I too am confused, have poor balance, and sleep a lot!!

AWWWW!! Don't you love it when you come home and they're all happy to see you and they're jumping on you, scratching your legs, wiggling their tails and trying not too pee from shear excitement? I miss that.

Good idea, time for a nap!!!

I like the layered chihuahua look!

Mike - I'll bet Carmen would give you a nap lesson if you asked nicely.

Fidget - Unfortunately, there is no room at the inn for Pickles. No dogs with penises (peni? penis'?) are allowed here. He could spend the day in the yard peeing on the rocks though.

Cissy Strutt - Isn't it funny how the oddest, most inappropriate thoughts like to hang around?

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow - I hadn't heard of a dog cat but now her actions make sense! I will start treating her accordingly.

I love Chi Chi but she can sure make me sad.

The Phosgene Kid - But do you have a giant coochie?

Hope you got that nap in!

Regal - I like it too because I know where they all are! Don't have to worry about one of them sneaking off to pee on the carpet or chew a hole in the wall.

It's sweet that y'all are willing to take care of her in her old age. I love people who are so caring about animals, children & old people. *sigh* I had to stop going to a certain Fazoli's cos' an old lady there looked like my dearly departed great grammie and i'd bust out crying every time I went in there no matter what.

Poor dear little Chi Chi....It must be hard to see her like this...You may have said but I don't remember...Is Chi Chi with you now permanenrly? I hope that Tiny will learn to love her...!

Patti_Cake - Aw, how sad about the Fazoli lady. I know what you mean though.

Lady of the Hills - Chi Chi is here to stay. I'm glad because I know cold weather is hard on her and we don't have much of that. I think she deserves to be comfortable.
