Oh. There's Life Out There

Neato. Just realized I got my first comment. Which means someone has stumbled upon this and bothered to read.

I will go celebrate by eating Cheetos before my nap. I'll be glad when all the Cheetos are gone. I think Sweety is trying to sabotage my new health routine. He knows that I have no self control.

I suppose you mean mine about Angelina Jolie? I didn't mean to drive you to the Cheetos bag ...

Really, I enjoy your blog and your amusing way of writing, although I'm still trying to piece together some of the characters (exwife is remarried, but he's dead, but she's pregnant? and what's with your sister?). You're also a great role model for a stepmother - not that I am one, but you never know, I might be one day. I like how your writing truly reflects your belief that all these kids are as much yours as if you gave birth to them. Hell, most birthmothers could take a lesson from your book.

I'm a regular reader now. And I have a feeling one day I'll be throwing a lot more your way with a post on my blog that references yours ... you're too good to stay a secret.

Driving me to the Cheetos bag is okay. I look for an excuse for that.

The exwife remarried shortly after my husband and I married. She'd been living with this guy for a couple of years but I think our marriage hastened hers. She spent the first year of our marriage calling Sweety telling him to not be selfish and have any other kids because theirs couldn't handle it. Then she popped out one and has another due soon. I'd spent the last 3 years trying to give her a tumor with my thought beams and instead her husband was diagnosed with one before Christmas and was dead a month later. If only my aim weren't off...
My sister is a royal screw up. I moved to FL and was lonely so I got her to follow me here. Then spent the next 3 years bailing her out whenever she needed it. Rent, groceries, utilities, etc. I did it cause I don't want to see my niece suffer. In October the niece, Sylvie(5) told her mom she wanted to live with me, that she thought it would be better for her at my house. About the same time sis had a little mental crackdown, quit her well paying job and moved back to Oklahoma to work for cash in a bar. Leaving behind Sylvie til the end of the school year. She's supposed to move to OK when school is out. I hope my sister says she can just come back after the summer for next school year.

Wow - that's a complicated family there. Good for you for rolling with the punches.
