Dreams

Anaglyph's post about recurring dreams made me think about some of my own. I've had a variation of the same type of dream for about 4 years now. I'm flying to get away from someone/something and keep running into a ceiling. Sometimes the ceiling is made of industrial ceiling tiles and sometimes it's plastic (like garbage bags are made of). In order to get away I have to keep pushing through the ceiling to get to the next level/world; only to find that there's another ceiling there to push through. I've only had one dream where I pushed through enough ceilings so there weren't any more of them left and I woke up when I getting oriented in my dreamworld to see what was around me. Doesn't that figure?

Now that I think about it I've had the ceiling dreams since moving to Florida.

In my dreams I can fly only if I'm relaxed and not freaking out because I need to get away from something. And I can have people fly with me as long as we're holding hands and they believe just a tiny bit that I can fly.

Sometimes I dream that my dream is a movie and I'm watching it. Credits will even roll. One of the oddest dreams I ever had was where I was watching a movie-dream and I was in it too. I was a bee and I lived in a big bee city. And I was a police officer bee trying to catch a murderer. I caught him and then saw my name in the credits in the end.

Dreams where my teeth are breaking off or falling out are a common theme also. When I wake up I'm usually licking my teeth, checking for broken ones.

Then there was the one where I was a vulture and I liked to stand on my head at the park and look at myself in the water and watch all the people milling about. I don't know where the hell that one came from.

Thankfully, the invisible lions haven't paid me a visit in some time.

I have a dream about my teeth breaking off too - but usually it's like four or five teeth and my gum just break off as a set into my hand. It's horrifying.

That bee dream sounds fun.

My recurring dream always has me unable to see...either everything is blurry or it's so bright that I have to squint my eyes and I still can't see anything, and it pisses me off cause it's always during dreams I want to see....like making out with a hot guy or something. Teeth breaking off? Hmmm, that's weird, now I have had some dreams where I'm being hurt and I can feel the pain in my dream, those always freak me out!

The teeth breaking off sounds really really horrid!! I wouldn't like that, at all....My recurring dreams always involved something to do with 'performing', they are/were a form of anxiety dreams....MY music didn't arrive; MY costume doen't get there in time...everyone else IS prepared..weather it is their music or their costume....Awful Awful dreams..but not nearly as horrible as teeth falling out or breaking off!!!! UGH!

When I was little I would have a dream that these big brown, shit monsters (yes, flying turds) were trying to kill little pink fairies. Everytime I woke up from that one, I'd vomit. Soon I knew well enough when I was dreaming that one to get my ass up and to the bathroom pronto.

I've heard what broken teeth "mean" in a dream but with my non-latte'd head I can't think. I'll check back later if I can remember (once I've ingested much coffee).

I've seen credits roll in my dreams, too.

When teeth fall out or break off in dreams it's supposed to mean that you're worried about your finances in real life.

I've had flying dreams, too, but normally it's only when I've taken NyQuil.

When the credits roll in my dream, my credit is a tiny one right down near the end.

Hey wait a minute, that's just like my real life...

I have lots of them, too. Mine are of college classes that I forgot to attend, and it's finals day. I also dream a lot about trying to dial a phone number, but I keep hitting the wrong keys..and it's an emergency.
Lately, I've been dreaming about having no money and all the utilities are getting turned off. Hmm....

The explanation for the teeth breaking off dream does make sense. I love to worry about money during the day and then dream about a snaggletooth mouth at night.

And it's nice to know that others have credits in their dreams. Every time I've mentioned that to someone I've been told I need therapy.

I think everyone has recurring dreams about f*cked up stuff.
I do but nothing that crazy. How scary would it be to have no teeth IRL. I know lotsa people around here with no teeth.

Honey, credits in your dreams are NOT the only reason someone might say you need therapy.

Wow. I am glad that I never remember my dreams when I wake up.
