For without you, I'd be more likely to do weird things.
The bugs that I mentioned in the first post today? They're still all swarmed up on two trees in the front yard. It looks like the bark on the bottom of the trees is moving. Just thinking about them gives me goosebumps.
I gave them a close look before I left the house to go to the grocery store earlier today. Before going to the grocery store, I made a quick trip to the local hardware store to price blowtorches. I did find a nice small one (perfect for incinerating scary bugs) priced at $13.22. But I knew if I bought it and came home and toasted those critters that I would be compelled to blog about it. I'd probably even be tempted to video it. And do I really want to scare away the nice people that come by here every now and then? No. No, I do not.
So I put that cute torch back on the shelf. But while I was at the grocery store, I did buy one of those giant lighter things that you use to light candles with. I was careful to peruse them all and choose the one that was 3 inches longer than the rest. If the urge to burn bugs becomes too great, at least I'll have an extra 3 inches between me and their flaming bodies.

A blow torch just isn't safe. I think you made the right choice by picking the long lighter instead. Less likely to start a forest fire with it.
Go get a can of White Rain hairspray, and use it in conjunction with the super-long lighter!! Next best thing to a blow-torch, without as much force. ;)
Those bugs look like the bugs we had back home for a while. They're just nasty. I hated them. They'd go away when the freezes hit, but other than that, they were practically year-round after the first infestation.
You realize, of course, that quite a few of the bugs are stuck in your blankets now. Along with all the little bug eggs they laid. And since they like the warmth, they'll probably hatch soon! Have fun!!!
OMG!! Osbasso is just mean!!!
I am SO creeped out and I say: fire away!
Osbasso lives in Montana where all the bugs died long ago. That's why he thinks its so funny. You wouldn't have this problem if you lived in the norther part of the country like say Ohio. :) Remember, there is insecticide for everything.
Might want to go with chems vice incendiary, there chikie. I had a friend douse a hornet’s nest with gas, and set it a fire. He would up burning out an entire hedge, his father was not pleased. If you aren’t into Raid, you can mix some soap and water in a spray bottle and hose the beasties down. The soap forms a film over them so they can’t breathe.
I like the hairspray and lighter method myself. But, OMG, WHY are their asses RED?!?!??! WHY?????
uh, Chickie? Just move. That's what I'd do.
I would definitely be getting rid of the blankets, the bugs, everything.
Chickie, you usually don't disappoint, but I am this time. I would have bought 2 blow torches and yup, set the trees and probably the whole neighborhood on fire. BUt I would have done it for my blog readers.
Yeah, you're probably much better off, with the lighter. Although the hair spray would make it more fun!
Thank you for your input, everbody. I didn't imagine that too many people would have much to say about evil bugs but I was wrong!
Osbasso, that comment was not what I needed to dwell on! I'm going to stuff the blanket in a plastic bag to smother any eggs.
