Do You Know What Time It Is?

It's SCIENCE PROJECT TIME! WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!

This year, BigBrother(13) is doing an experiment to see what kind of insulation works the best*. Sweety helps with the experimenting part and I help with the getting-all-of-the-information-on-a-posterboard-and-making-it-look-nice part. I'll be glad when the project is over. Every year I say that it is my last year to help with the stinking projects and I keep getting sucked into them. Maybe I will go on vacation this time next year.

We did find some fun uses for the leftover insulation.

Marco! Polo! Chi Chi takes a ride.

*Feel free to steal this experiment and use it for your own middle-schooler. I bought the damn idea off of the internet after BB's science teacher shot down 2 or 3 project ideas that BB had submitted. Consider it my gift to you.

Damn I DREAD this shit when my kid gets older. It was bad enough when I had to do it.I once milked a fricken cow for a science project.

Mike - I won't tell if you want to take the idea as your own.

Scotty Ice - Calling it a "joy" is a bit of a stretch.

Cissy Strutt - Do they work?

The Phosgene Kid - I'm pretty sure that the science teacher would have shot that idea out of the sky too.

And a lovely looking report it is! I see the tiny dog has much to be thankful for ... thankful that the experiment was performed over a soft surface! Happy T.G. to you and yours, Chickie!

Sara Sue - Heh, that was Chi Chi and she's so blind that she didn't know what was going on. She just knew she was getting a ride onto the couch!

Patti_Cake - Hey, you snuck in on me! I'd rather him milk a cow. At least it would be over quickly. Oh how I loathe school projects!

I used to judge science projects back when I was part of civilization.
Most of us would tank the projects that looked like Mom and Dad had spend many long evenings and hours working on it. The original ideas, randomly scrawled on white poster board but presented by some kid who obviously knew what had been done to accomplish the results were always my favorites.

SagaciousHillbilly - I would like to go the scrawled on posterboard route but there are so many freaking rules about how the damn thing must look. BB writes everything out about the project and then I make it look nice using the computer and he glues everything on the board.

It shouldn't be such a pain in the ass but it is.

OMG! I bought a term theme paper for my son online one year. I just modified it, and "dumbed" it up to make it sound like something he read.

dontcha wish the internet was around when WE had to write the f*ing papers back then??

Scanjolina - The thing that I got online didn't have the project results but was the idea. We didn't even do it quite the same way that they said to do it. It was finished late last night. Now we have a Social Studies project due in January. Shoot me now.

The internet would have been so handy back in the day! Good grief, I'm getting old.
