Secrets

See this? This is my addiction and it is spiraling out of control. That cabinet hangs above our toilet and Sweety happened to open it the other day when he was taking a whiz. He then wanted to know if I was stocking up for a nuclear war. Because you know that bath items and smelly wax things would be hard to find afterwards. (If you'd like to more closely examine my secret shame, you can click that photo to big it up.)

All that soap stacked in the right corner? It's gonna take us months to use all of that. Yet, I still want to order more. But I am fighting the urge. Most of it was purchased from Capella's Garden. They have a clearance section where you can buy a bundle of random soap for $5 and right now shipping on anything is 4.95. I have a coupon (DEAL - if you want to start a soap problem) for 10% off. They only have 5 more bundles left. I have been looking at those for 2 day, dying to buy them all. But really, where the hell am I going to put them? (The temptation was too great and I went to the site to see how much it would be to buy them all. 26.20 with the discount. Okay, I'm really clicking away from that page and not going back for awhile.) Sweety may send me to rehab if he starts finding soap stashed in other places. Sometimes they have bundles of bath bombs on sale in the same manner and I have been hitting their page an ungodly number of times per day to try and catch that because I wouldn't be able to help myself and would buy them all.

There are other things in the cabinet that I have a huge yearning for also. Those little white sacks? They are asprin shaped wax melts and I love them and want to have their tiny, round, sweet smelling babies. They are just the right size to chop in half and put in my wax melter and the smell lasts for around a week or so of pretty much continuous use. But I already have 10 of them. That's at least 3 months of good smell in the house and how far in advance do I really need to plan?

I feel that I must say this - I don't get anything from talking about these places. I have even tried to convert my neighbor to the soap. I called him over here and gave him some lotion for his granddaughters and a bar of Ginger Bubbles Soap. He asked me what was the soap for and I exclaimed (with a feverish look in my eye) "It is the greatest soap ever it's made from goat's milk and smells great and I think EVERYONE should use it so I'm giving it to you to become addicted to!!!" He slowly backed out of the house while thanking me and sprinted down the sidewalk.

And all of those links under the "Spend Your Pennies" sidebar title? I really buy stuff from all of those places. Um, except for the NKOTB one. I'm just monitoring that site to see if they happen to come close to me with their new tour. And then I'm going. (Wow, this post really reveals what a nerd I am.) I didn't get to see them when I was a kid and dammit, I will go this time around!

Ooh that looks like a FUN cabinet. I have a sudden urge to take a bath!

Patti - Heh, I even have some of that bubble bath in the "Doodlebug" scent. Great stuff! The fact that the bath changes colors did it for me.

Regal - Whenever I go into the bathroom, I have to open the cabinet and give it a big sniff. It makes me giddy!

My pile of good smelling soap is under the bathroom sink. I share the addiction. No need to explain...

here today, gone tomorrow - Under the sink is where I stash the various potions that I have washed Stinky Dog with. Thankfully, we have found a combo of diet/shampoo that works but I can't bring myself to just toss out all of the half-used bottles.

See you got step 1: Buying the soap covered, now start on step 2: Use the soap.

I'll get on that list, if it's the last thing I do!

Which hopefully it won't be because I'd really like to be making soap for a long time yet. Will you please tell the bank to hurry up with my loan?

Ooooh! My bad! Just placed an order because you recommended it so highly. Because I know that you'll want to know...I ordered a Bee My Honey Lotion Bar, Bunch o' Bars and Just Shea. Thanks for the code!

There is NOTHING wrong with you, uh, problem. In fact, I envy that cabinet. Seriously!

NKOTB - I'm awful. AWFUL. Because... I made a tiny "squee" sound at the brief mention of their reunion.

I'll bet your bathroom smells soooo good! I used to be into the bar soap thing - but now settle for different bath gels. We all have our little quirks! Sweety will just have to live with your addiction!

as long as your addictions are harmless, who cares? at least you are not collecting nested butt plugs like joey polanski. now those things can be dangerous.

We're arguing over first on your blog now? Damn. I have to get into that.

This is the place where you got the bath-water-color-changing bubbles for Sam, right? I think you need therapy for your bath accessory addiction. Maybe BA. Bathaholics Anonymous.

The Phosgene Kid - I do step 2 at least twice a week. Whether I need to or not.

Jeni Angel - I must ask, did you make the sweater yourself? I had a jean jacket covered in giant NKOTB pins.

Ginamonster - I'd love for you to get on my list! :) I've been sending your bank good thoughtbeams.

Regal - The Just Shea kicks ass. I use it every night on my hands and feet and Chi Chi's nose.

Amy - The only bad thing about the cabinet is that I get overwhelmed when I open it to get a new bar of soap or something and have to close the cabinet and go away empty-handed. It takes me awhile to decide which thing to use next.

I too, got a bit excited when I found out the rumors about a reunion were true!

Lady of the Hills - I haunt all of those websites on a pretty regular basis just to see what's new. Sweety saw me looking at soap last night and told me to turn off the damn computer because the last thing we need is any more soap!

Midwestern City Boy - They must be in their mid to late thirties. I remember that when they first came out that they were a bit older than me.

heather - Heh, the Monkey Fart is kind of bananaish. Something sweet? I say get something in Orange Pomegranate from Candle Dippers. Or something in Pink Lemonade. I'm so tempted to lick that stuff!

I watched NKOTB videos til my eyes bled when I was a kid.

Cissy Strutt - I managed to restrain myself! It's hard though.

themom - I like gel too but I can make bar soap last longer. Even though Sweety says things about all of the soap, he still likes to use it!

Mike - Actually, my butt plug collection usually lives on the top shelf but I moved it for the photo.

bekah - You can call lasties for this one :)

Yeah, Candle Dippers is where the bath stuff came from. I got some that's Mountain Dew yellow. I pretend that I'm bathing in radioactive water when I use it.

You need to have a big bubble bath party and invite the neighborhood :)

That would be fun ;)

Finally NKOTB is reuniting! It's about time that New Kids On The Block tours again. I can't wait to see them in concert. I've always been a big fan. Hear their new song and see some new pics over at www.NKOTBReunion.com
They still look and sound great!
