Auditioning

Sammy

Everyone say, "Hola!" to Sammy. He is trying out for a spot in our household.

He's 6 (or 7?) and his owners are moving and can't take him. I know that Stinky won't be around forever and I don't want Tiny Dog to be alone in her golden years. He's going to be here today while his owner is at work so I can see how all of the canines get along.

I was afraid that as soon as he entered the house that they would fight to the death in the living room but so far, so good. It seems that he is willing to let Tiny Dog keep her title of Dominant Dog and she's trying to get him to play with her.

I swear, I won't turn this place into a dog blog.

P.S. Here they all are so you can see how big he is. He's just a couple of pounds bigger than Tiny.

Well he is just gorgeous. I feel bad for him that his owners can't take him. I hope it works out and he gets along well with Tiny.

...but with dogs.

I'll keep an eye out for you on the 6 o'clock news...

...it's only a matter of time...

This needs to be a dog blog. Dlog. Maybe rename it skittering dogs.

Nothing wrong with a dog blog! I hope Sammy makes the cut. I don't mean to sound judgemental but I just cannot fathom someone giving their dog away......

Mike - Even though I'm not a fan of long-haired dogs, I must admit that he is pretty. Tiny still seems okay with him. She's not growling or hiding somewhere all pissed off at me. And she will sleep in his presence which is something she won't do if she's on edge.

Moooooog35 - You say this like it's a bad thing!

Bekah - Based on the way the canines act when they are excited on the wood floor - skittering dogs would be a good name for a blog for them.

Patti - I couldn't imagine giving a dog away either but I understand their situation. It's a guy I work with and he thought he'd have til the summer to find a place and move but now they want him to move in 2 weeks. He told me that his wife had a cryfest when he brought Sammy over this morning.

I LOVE SAMMY!! And the look on his face on the couch is priceless. It's like "THESE ARE SOME EFFING WEIRD DOGS!!"

You should keep him. He fits in !

Don't FOUR dogs make for a lot of dog poop?

Welcome Sammy!

Love "Skittering Dogs". Also love how Tiny Dog has her butt tucked nicely into Stinky Dog.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound judgemental about it, I meant I just can't fathom giving my dogs away. I get all teary just imaginging but if it's any consolation if I were going to let anyone take care of them it would be you! He made a good choice. I feel very sorry for the wife though.

Cissy Strutt - Stinky does have her own unique charm. She is such a good dog!

Lady of the Hills - Me too! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Heather - Thanks! Hola!

Scanjolina - Oh yeah, he was a bit overwhelmed by the others. It took a few hours before they all even exchanged butt sniffs. But when his owner came to get him - he was actually reluctant to go!

Midwestern City Boy - Um, yeah. That is kind of a sticky issue with Sweety too. I'm going to have to do a better job on poop patrol.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow - That is Tiny's favorite spot. If she's not in my lap then she's on Stinky like white on rice.

Elise - Thank you!

Patti - I know where you're coming from and honestly, I'm a bit judgmental about the whole thing. It seems that his family hasn't found a place to live yet. Why not look for a place that will take your dog of 7 years before you decide to give him away? I tell myself that there must be something about the situation that I don't know.

Hola Sammy!!! How precious. I also think it is sad when someone has to relocate and cannot take their pets. I am sure you will be a loving, doting parent!!
